What's Included in the Price

Most pergola brands advertise a low entry price, then upcharge for the features that actually matter. We price the pergola you'd actually want to install. Every Luxury Pergola® includes the following — standard, not as an upgrade:

  • Motorized louvered roof — open, close, and angle louvers via remote. Not a manual crank.
  • Integrated LED lighting — perimeter lighting included on every build.
  • SureDrain® drainage — single-channel internal drainage routes water through one post. No external gutters.
  • Tri-Vault® dual-wall louvers — insulated dead-air construction keeps the space cooler in summer.
  • 200+ mph wind rating — engineered to Category 5 standards on every build.
  • Engineering stamps — available for permit filing in any U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Lifetime transferable warranty — every component, every build, transfers with the home.

WHERE THE COST GOES

Welded in Indiana, Not Assembled Overseas

Most pergola brands at lower price points source frames from OEM factories in China or Vietnam. We weld, machine, and powder-coat every component in our Indiana facility. That's a meaningful cost line — and the reason our 6063-T6 aluminum is consistent across the entire structure, not just the visible parts.
WHERE THE COST GOES
American manufacturing is more expensive. We don't pretend otherwise — we just don't pretend the alternative gets you the same product.
WHERE THE COST GOES

TRI-VAULT® DUAL-WALL LOUVERS

Insulated Louvers Cost More. They're Also the Reason You'll Sit Outside in August.

Entry-level pergolas use single-wall louver blades that conduct heat directly into the space below. Our Tri-Vault® louvers are dual-wall with a dead-air insulation cavity. The result: 10–15°F cooler underneath on hot days. The reason we charge more for this is the same reason it works — there's more material in every louver.

SUREDRAIN® DRAINAGE

Internal Drainage Is Engineering, Not a Feature

Cheaper pergolas use external gutter systems that route water along the perimeter. SureDrain® channels every drop through a single oversized internal channel inside one post. It costs more to engineer — and it's the reason our pergolas handle 4-inch-per-hour rainfall without creating waterfalls where your guests sit.

L/180 DEFLECTION STANDARD

The Spec You Won't Find on a Cheap Pergola

Deflection is how much a structure flexes under load. Most pergola brands don't publish a deflection standard at all. We engineer to L/180 — meaning a 20-foot span flexes no more than 1.3 inches under maximum design load. This is the same standard used for commercial roofing systems. It's expensive to engineer, expensive to test, and the reason our 5.75"×10" reinforced beam can carry loads competitors can't.

LIFETIME TRANSFERABLE WARRANTY

Why a Lifetime Warranty Is Built Into the Price

Most aluminum pergola warranties run 10 years on the frame, 5 years on moving parts, 2 years on electrical — non-transferable. We warrant every component for the lifetime of the structure, and the warranty transfers when you sell the home. That confidence costs us something to underwrite. It's also the clearest signal of how long we expect the product to last.

Why The Luxury Pergola Costs More Than Imported Brands

Yes, our pricing is higher than imported aluminum pergolas. We won't pretend otherwise — but we will tell you exactly where the price difference goes:

1. American manufacturing. Every frame, beam, and louver is welded and machined in Indiana. Imported OEM frames from China or Vietnam cost a fraction to produce. The cost difference reflects U.S. labor, U.S. material sourcing, and direct quality control on every build.

2. Engineering depth. L/180 deflection standard, 200+ mph wind rating, dual-wall louver construction — these specifications are expensive to engineer, expensive to test, and rare in this category. Most brands at lower price points don't publish deflection specs at all.

3. Standard features that competitors charge for. Motorized louvers, LED lighting, integrated drainage, dual-wall insulation — these are line-item upgrades on imported brands and add-ons on dealer-sold brands. They're standard on every Luxury Pergola.

4. Lifetime transferable warranty. Underwriting a lifetime warranty on every component is a real cost. Most competitors carry 10-year warranties on the frame only, with shorter terms on moving parts and electrical components. Ours transfers when you sell the home — a meaningful resale signal.

5. No dealer markup. Counterintuitively, dealer-sold brands like StruXure typically cost more per square foot than ours, because the dealer adds their own margin. We sell factory-direct so the cost goes into the product, not the chain.

What a Luxury Pergola Costs Over a Lifetime

A pergola is not a 3-year purchase like a grill. It's a 20-to-40-year fixture on your property. The right way to evaluate pergola cost is across that lifetime — not just the purchase price.

The Luxury Pergola — 10×13

$20,439
Custom-built, motorized, lifetime warranty.
  • Purchase price$20,439
  • Repairs (lifetime warranty)$0
  • Replacement louvers (Tri-Vault)$0
  • Powder coat refinishing$0
  • Transferable warranty resale lift
20-year cost$20,439

Imported Pergola — 10×13

$7,495
Entry tier, motorized, 10-year frame warranty.
  • Purchase price$7,495
  • Motor replacement (yr 6–8, typical)~$1,200
  • Powder coat refinishing (yr 10)~$2,500
  • Full replacement (yr 15–20, typical)~$7,495
  • Resale impact (non-transferable warranty)
20-year cost~$18,690

Imported-pergola lifetime costs reflect typical industry replacement/refurbishment patterns; actual costs vary by climate and use. The point isn't that imports are bad — it's that the up-front price difference shrinks dramatically when measured over a 20-year horizon.
