Our louvers are operated by a quiet, waterproof motor system controlled via remote. With one button press, the dual-wall aluminum louvers rotate from fully open (maximum sunlight and airflow) to fully closed (complete rain and sun protection), and any angle in between. The system runs on standard 110V power.
Yes. When the louvers are fully closed, our dual-wall design creates a watertight seal. Integrated hidden gutters channel rainwater through the posts and out a single drainage point, keeping the area beneath completely dry. No pooling, no dripping.
Dual-wall louvers have two layers of aluminum with an insulating air gap between them. This design increases structural strength, improves heat insulation (blocking more radiant heat than single-wall), and provides better sound dampening during rain. Single-wall louvers are thinner, weaker, and transfer more heat.
Our louvered pergolas are engineered for extreme conditions — rated for 200+ mph wind loads and 15,000+ lb snow loads (approximately 3 feet of snow). The dual-wall louver construction provides the structural rigidity needed for these ratings. Each unit can also be stamped by a licensed PE for permit applications.
Virtually none. The 6063-T6 aluminum won’t rust, rot, or warp. Our ElectroLayer® powder coat finish resists scratching and UV fading. The motor system is sealed and waterproof. An occasional rinse with a garden hose is all that’s needed to keep it looking new.
